Purvin & Gertz Scheduled to Present at NPRA Annual Meeting
23 March 2010
Purvin & Gertz is proud to announce its participation at this year's National Petrochemical and Refiners Association (NPRA) Annual Meeting on March 21 to 23, 2010. Purvin & Gertz will deliver presentations by Stephen Jones, Kurt Barrow, and Alfred Luaces. Stephen Jones, Vice President, will provide insight into the global threats to heavy crude supplies by reviewing the decline of crudes preferred by coking refineries along with the potential developments for future supplies. Expectations as to how refiners may adapt to the heavy crude gap will also be presented. The speech, entitled "Filling the Heavy Crude Gap" will include key implications for the refining industry, such as refinery utilization and the potential for future rationalization and optimization of capacity. Kurt Barrow, Vice President, will examine the potential impacts of recent developments in climate change legislation on U.S. refiners and how they might best adapt to these conditions. His presentation is entitled "Impact of Climate Change Legislation on U.S. Refiners". Alfred Luaces, Vice President, will deliver a speech entitled "Changing Distillate Supply Patterns for U.S. Refiners". This paper will outline the potential impacts of recent shifts in the industry and how refiners may adapt to the changing conditions as supply and demand recover.
